Distance: 25 km
Travel Time: 1 hour
Route: Madurai → Alagar Kovil → Palamudhir cholai
Started my journey from the vibrant city of Madurai, after a quick stop at the Meenakshi Temple. The drive through Alagar Kovil Road was scenic, dotted with fields and forest patches.
Stopped at Alagar Kovil, a peaceful Vishnu temple at the base of the hills—definitely worth a visit for its serenity and architecture.
From there, a short uphill drive through forested paths led me to Palamudhir cholai, one of Lord Muruga’s six abodes. Surrounded by greenery, the temple is simple yet spiritually powerful. A quick trek further up took me to Noopura Gangai, a natural spring believed to be sacred.
Tips:
Travel early to avoid heat.
Watch out for monkeys.
Carry water/snacks; few shops near the hill.
Ideal for nature lovers and spiritual seekers alike.
A short trip, but full of peace, devotion, and natural beauty! Need a ride to Pazamudhir Solai, contact us at Madurai Holidays for your trip to complete.
